LAND PROTECTION PROJECTS

We have been involved in several projects to protect land in Washington!

Eccardt Farm

We helped permanently protect 141 acres of the Eccardt Farm through the purchase of a conservation easement. The easement will protect the 141-acre upland lots while allowing continued use for farming, forestry and recreation. The easement will provide for permanent designation of the public trail on the property. For more information on this project click on "Eccardt Farm Project" on the left hand bar.

Millen Pond, below Farnsworth Hill

In a collaborative effort, a dedicated group of Millen Pond residents, the Washington Conservation Commission and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (Forest Society) worked to permanently protect two tracts (115 ac & 198 ac) of land totaling 313 acres on Farnsworth Hill in Washington. For more information on this project click on "Farnsworth Hill Project" on the left hand bar.

MacNeil Family Farm land on Old Marlow Road

The MacNeil Family, John Brighton, the Washington Conservation Commission and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests (Forest Society) worked together to permanently protect 245 acres of high quality habitat, local historic sites and beautiful forest land totaling 313 acres on Old Marlow Road in Washington. For more information on this project click on "MacNeil Family Forest Project" on the left hand bar.

East Washington

Several of our members were involved in a "Watershed Restoration Project" in East Washington involving six farms. For more information on this project click on "East Washington Watershed Grant" on the left hand bar.
