The Planning Board is comprised
of four elected members with at least one elected annually
at Town Meeting for a three year term, a Selectman Ex-Officio
member appointed by the Selectmen, and various alternate members
appointed by the Planning Board.
The Planning Board meets monthly on the first Tuesday, at
6:30 PM, in the Selectmen's office of the Washington Town
Hall.
The deadline for applications requiring
Public Notice is the second Monday of the month preceding
the month in which the application will be considered. Applications
must be personally received by the Secretary or Chairman of
the Board.
The Planning Board is responsible for:
• Adopting and maintaining the Master Plan
• Adopting and maintaining Subdivision Regulations
• Approval of property Subdivisions, including
Annexations and Mergers
• Adopting and maintaining Site Plan Review
Regulations
• Approval of Site Plans (for commercial
and multi-dwelling uses)
• Authoring amendments to the Land Use Ordinance
(which are then adopted by a vote of the
Town)
• Approval of Driveway Permits on Town roads
once endorsed by the Road Agent
• Issue Business Permits and Sign
Permits
• Adopting and maintaining the Capital Improvement
Program
