WASHINGTON PLANNING BOARD
Site Walk Minutes
August 25, 2015
Time: 5:00pm
Members present: Jim Crandall and Nan Schwartz.
Alternates present: Jean Kluk, Andrew Hatch,
Public present: Camille and Jon Gibson
We met at the Gibson property at 22 North Main Street.
We were shown the property by the GibsonŐs, who answered our questions
about the new location for GibsonŐs Pewter. Jon showed us the area for parking,
which was marked. They received a permit for the driveway cut from NH DOT and
we had a copy of the permit. Jon told us his plans for possible signage, which
included a wall sign on the barn and a yard sign. They will fill out a sign
permit application later on. Jon said there is a security light on the corner
of the house but they donŐt plan to use that for the business but will probably
install a downward light over the barn door. He said they are considering
burying the utility lines that run from the pole to the barn, but havenŐt made
a decision on that yet. He spoke about the entry to the barn and the possible
choices they have for that. The plan right now is to insulate the right side
bay of the barn (900 sf) and put the business into
this area. He spoke a bit about the history of the barn and said there used to
be a two-lane bowling alley out the back. He said there is a snowmobile trail
in the rear of the property and a boggy area. He said the barn is a great raw
space with room to grow for their business. There is 200-amp service coming
into an empty service box, which gives them good options for power in the
building. There is no water or septic available in the barn.
The site visit was adjourned at 5:20pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Nan Schwartz
