WASHINGTON PLANNING BOARD
Site Walk Minutes
July 15, 2016
Time: 9:00am
Members present: Jim Crandall, Jean Kluk and Nan Schwartz.
Public present: Ryan Curran
We met at the Washington General Store, Curran
gave Schwartz the copies of materials we requested at our previous meeting with
him.
We were shown the property by Curran, starting outside the building.
Curran showed us where he had mowed and was clearing for extra parking in the
rear of the building and behind the house. He said there was 70 feet to the
property line. He is putting down gravel to denote the parking area. Crandall
said he had calculated 18 parking spaces needed for the store and the
restaurant.
Ryan explained that he is required to have a new septic design and he
is having Meridian draw one up, which they will submit to DES for approval. He
had Bob Bachand dig a test pit in the expansion area
for the septic design. Curran has assurance from Meridian that he will have
approval before the hearing on August 2nd. He needs the new design
in the event that his old system fails.
We took a look in the store and restaurant areas, noting the
delineation between the two separate areas.
We thanked Curran for the tour. Schwartz said that the hearing notice
was sent to the paper for this week and the abutter notices were going out
later today. We will contact him if we have any further questions.
The site visit was adjourned at 9:20AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Nan Schwartz
Planning Board Secretary
