CIP committee members, Chute, Terani, and Kluk, met with Police Chief Steve Marshall to review the Washington Town Buildings Capital Improvement spreadsheet items specific to the Old School House police station and the required use of the Old Public Works garage.  The spreadsheet is a compilation of many reports (i.e. energy audits, building condition inspections) that have been done on the town buildings.

The objectives of the meeting were:

               a.   Obtain updates on the status of the Old School House (police station) capital improvements listed in the spreadsheet.

               b.   Determine any additional items that need to be addressed and included.

               c.   View and photograph Old School House building conditions.

               d.   Visit and photograph the Old Public Works building and discuss the Police DepartmentŐs use of this building

Chief Marshall provided this information and conducted building tours.  Kluk will enter the updates to capital improvement items in the spreadsheet for future review by the Planning Board.

The tour and inspection of current conditions was very enlightening relative to the amount of deferred maintenance that we observed. Explanations of the current uses of the building and also the limitations on legal and safe procedures that the building imposes were very informative.  Details of these items will be included in the updates to the spreadsheet.

CIP committee members thanked Chief for his time and input and the meeting ended at 12:45 pm

Respectfully submitted by Jean Kluk
